What Else is New?

Walmart has given the Breckenridge Library and Fine Arts Foundation a grant to provide a new computer for the Library and a new computer for the Fine Arts Center as well as provide funding for a Holiday Puppet Show by the Dallas Puppet Theater on November 12 and 13.  The Puppet Show is "Jack and the Beanstalk".

The Tocker Foundation has given the Breckenridge Library another grant to be used to finish the digitization of the microfilmed newspaper in the library.  The significance of this project is that many of the issues on the microfilm were destroyed in the past by a fire.  Without this project, that history would have been lost as the microfilm deterioated.  A special thanks to the Tocker Foundation for helping to preserve Texas history through this project.  We are grateful for their help with this project during the past two years.  The Breckenridge American past issues can be viewed at the following website.
